Bunzan-Gama 文山窯

Bunzangama is a pottery studio in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture, which has been in operation for over 100 years. While many manufacturers in the Mino ware production area have a mass production system based on the division of labour, Bunzan-gama has the advantage of being able to handle everything from clay making to the final process at the studio, and to produce products with meticulous attention to detail. The warmth of earthenware, yet thin, light and easy to use in daily life, is the result of the desire of the fourth generation successor, Koichi Ito, to "provide more people with products that have been properly handled".
