Ofuke ware denotes ceramics produced at the imperial kiln of the Owari Tokugawa family, located within Nagoya Castle’s Ofuke-maru, or ceramics finished with the distinctive Ofuke glaze. This glaze, composed of feldspar and plant ash, is noted for its elegant celadon-like appearance. During firing, the iron in the glaze imparts a subtle pale blue or soft yellow-green tint.

*Prior to use, immerse the item in boiling water to fully saturate the fabric with moisture, which helps minimize staining and discoloration.
*After use, immediately remove any residue, wash with dish soap, rinse thoroughly, and ensure the piece is completely dry before storing.
*Since ceramic is porous, leaving it soaking in water can cause absorption of dirty water, leading to mold and stains.
