Yuzangama (祐山窯) is the personal brand of Yuya Masamura, a second-generation artisan at the renowned Shoto-En pottery kiln in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture—the historic heart of Mino ware. Moving away from mass production, Yuzangama is dedicated to handcrafted pottery where every single piece is given the time, care, and traditional technique it deserves.

A signature element of Yuzangama’s work is the Shinogi (しのぎ彫り) carving technique, where the artisan hand-sculpts precise, textured grooves onto the raw clay. This painstaking process highlights the natural, earthy texture of the material and imparts an unmistakable warmth that can only come from human hands.
