SUPER UPCYCLE JAPAN
ABOUT ikiri
Rooted in the concept of "Super Upcycle Japan," ikiri takes items that have grown old, lost value, or faced disposal, and uses traditional Japanese handicrafts to give them new life. Derived from an Osaka dialect term representing chic, bold style, ikiri reclaims the Edo-period aesthetic of iki to connect heritage techniques with global contemporary culture.
SUPER UPCYCLE JAPAN
Super Upcycling goes beyond simple regeneration. By applying traditional handicrafts to discarded items, they are transformed into treasures with even higher value than when they were brand new. This initiative provides Japanese artisans a global platform while actively addressing the critical shortage of craft successors.
