Hyozan-Gama
When Yozaemon, the fourth master of the Hyozan-gama, presented pottery to Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who unified Japan in 1590, his technique was praised and he was given a red seal of approval and the surname "Hashiba". The studio follows a long tradition of pottery production.
Zougan (inlay) is a decoration technique to carve patterns on surface of clay and insert other materials into the carved parts.
Tokusa pattern is inspired by the reeds of a type of grass grown in Japan, one of the most loved patterns for Japanese ceramics.
